Blake Griffin Signs 5-Year Extension With Clippers
Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin let the team know he intends to sign a contract extension this month. Griffin can not officially sign the extension until July 11.
He could earn the Clipper as much as $95 million over the five-year extension if he is voted an All-Star starter again or named to a second All-NBA team next season.
Griffin’s extension would begin the 2013-14 season, and would be able to opt-out of the final season of the contract.
Griffin, 23, averaged 20.7 points and 10.9 rebounds a game last season, who lost in the second round of the 2012 playoffs to the San Antonio Spurs.
